Are you a huge fan of those fun wool beads that are popping up everywhere? I love seeing what creative uses they have in jewelry, home decor, and other accessories. I wanted to incorporate this trend into a fun DIY keychain idea. Cute and functional, who wouldn’t love one of these?
- Darice Wool Beads in various colors
- Jewelry Chain Lengths
- Silver Head Pins
- Precision Pliers – Set of 3
- Steel Key Chain
Step 1. First step is deciding what colors of beads you’d like to use for your DIY keychain idea. You’ll need approximately 14 beads to make a key chain like mine. Once you’ve got that figured out, use a large needle to create a passage way through the center of each bead. They’re just made out of wool so it’s actually pretty easy to press the needle in.
I love how easy this DIY keychain idea is but at the same time, how practical it is too! The wool beads are lightweight enough that they’re easy to carry but substantial in size so that they’re easy to grab. Perfect when you’re trying to find your keys at the bottom of a large purse or backpack.
There are so many great ways to customize this tutorial to fit your own personal style! Whether you want to stick to a couple colors or add every color in the rainbow, Darice has such a great selection of wool beads that you’re sure to find what you need!
