Fall is my favorite time of year. I love the cooler weather, the colors, the crunchy leaves, and the pumpkins everywhere. I just love everything about the season, including making crafts to decorate my house for fall. Today I am sharing a really simple pumpkin craft with a floral fall crochet pattern. This pretty piece can be hung on a door or a wall or propped on a shelf!
I saw this wooden pumpkin cut out and I knew right away what I wanted to do with it. The idea of painting a wooden pumpkin and decorating it with crocheted flowers had been in my head and this was the perfect piece for what I had in mind. I thought using my floral fall crochet pattern in seasonal colors would be a good way to bring in some other colors and to dress up an otherwise plain pumpkin. I really wanted to keep it simple so I just added the flowers in one corner but if you wanted to add something more I think it would be cute to use paint or vinyl to add words to the pumpkin, like Welcome, or Happy Fall.

I really like finding ways to add crocheted elements into projects that wouldn’t normally be crocheted, so this was a fun project. The great thing about a pumpkin with fall flowers is that it is a decoration that can last from September through Thanksgiving. Now to decide where to put it.
A wood pumpkin cutout can also be transformed into a Thanksgiving DIY pallet sign decoration. Check it out!
