When I stumbled on the picket fence box on the Darice website, I instantly knew that it would make for great spring table decor. Not only is it adorable and just screaming out, “It’s Springtime!”, but it’s also the perfect size to fit these two little galvanized flower pots. This little happy coincidence made for a quick and easy centerpiece project with great impact.
Picket Fence Spring Table Decor Supplies:
- Darice Picket Wood Container.
- White Craft Paint.
- Darice Foam Brush.
- Darice Flower Pots – (Pay attention to the dimensions so that 2 pots will fit).
- Flowers/Herbs of Your Choice.
The pots come with little burlap swatches glued to their fronts. If you wanted to add a label, you can, but because I was fairly certain that it would be hidden by the fence, I just left them.
I used Americana Gloss Enamels in White to paint the picket fence. You can choose whatever color you’d like to paint your spring table decor. A neutral color will allow your flower or plant to stand out nicely.
I enlisted the help of a visiting sister to do a majority of the painting. That made the project even easier!
Once the paint had dried, the rest was easy! Pop in the pots and the herb or flower of choice, and suddenly, a lovely little spring centerpiece was born!
I love the idea of herbs as a housewarming or hostess gift. For under $10, you can gift this spring table decor to a special person in your life!
Or if you want to add a splash of color to your table – or finally celebrate that Springtime is near! – a couple of bright pink Primulas will add a charming effect to the picket fence.
Whether it’s for your own space, or as a gift to someone who is inviting you to dinner, this quick and easy spring table decor is sure to add a bright cheery feeling wherever it lives!
If you’re looking to put together some centerpieces with a little more height, consider these stenciled burlap spring table centerpieces. They would look perfect lining a console or entry way table.
