Add a reversible winter and Valentine’s Day DIY sign to your decor and leave it out for months. I love a reversible sign! One thing to store, however, it works for multiple seasons. Now that is an awesome idea! This one works for winter and Valentine’s Day but you can use this same concept to make signs for every season.
Reversible winter DIY sign supplies:
- Wood Darice Pallet Box
- White Vinyl Sheet
- Electronic Craft Cutter (I used my Cricut)
- Wood Stain
- Pink Craft Paint
- White Craft Paint
- Paint Brushes
- Miniatures
- Hot Glue and Glue Gun
- Transfer Tape
- Snow Love Downloadable File
Start by staining just the very inside of your pallet wood box. Brush on the stain, allow to sit a few minutes, then wipe away excess with a rag.
While that dries, you can actually flip over the box and paint the back and sides with white paint. I used two coats on all of the white surfaces. Allow both the stain and the paint to dry before continuing.
Download the snow/love file and upload to the software for your craft cutter. Size to fit your sign then cut them from white vinyl. We are going to use the vinyl two different ways. For the love side, weed your vinyl of any excess (including the middles of letters).
Use transfer tape to add it to the painted side of your pallet wood box. Press down well.
Paint over the vinyl with one coat of white paint. This will seal the edges and ensure you have a cleaner line when painting with the pink paint later.
Once dry, go over the entire thing with the pink paint. I used a fairly dry brush and stopped short of the edges as shown.
Allow this to dry completely, then lift your vinyl off of the project. You are left with LOVE in white surrounded by the pink. Touch up any areas where paint seeped under your vinyl. Allow everything to dry before continuing.
Once dry, flip over your project and then paint the sides and top of the other side with a couple of coats of white paint.
Weed the SNOW vinyl of any excess. Once the paint has dried, transfer the SNOW to the stained bottom with your transfer tape. Press down well.
Add winter miniatures to this side with hot glue. This is optional but definitely adds something extra to the sign.
Your reversible winter and Valentine’s Day sign is complete and ready to display in your home. The snow side is good from Christmas all the way through the winter months.
I love the contrast of the wood grain with the white and the miniatures just make the entire project!
Flip the sign over when you are ready to add some pink to your decor for Valentine’s Day.
I, of course, had to display mine with a few mason jars.
Make a reversible DIY sign for your home in just a few simple steps. You will love how this one looks in your home for months in the winter!

I just had to smile when I saw you sign Angie, but that happens often when I find one of your beautiful creations. Love the way the sign works and that the Winter one has that extra little bit of space to add dimension. That’s so very clever

Very cute and it seems easy to make!
Love this – it’s always so sad to take down the Christmas decorations and have such an empty home.
This is so cute Angie!
