Now that summer is winding down, it’s time to preserve those memories. Darice’s kraft paper notebooks provide the perfect canvas for creating a DIY journal for travel memories. The plain cover allows for customization, while the pages are sturdy enough to hold photographs and collages. They’re also ideal for drawing and sketching. Planning next year’s adventures, maybe? It’s never too early to think ahead!
TRAVEL MEMORY DIY JOURNAL SUPPLIES:
- Darice Natural Paper Notebook.
- Acrylic Paints (sunset colors and white).
- Darice Artist Brush.
- Darice Blending Tortillon.
Step two. Right under the first color, add additional dark hues. I used dark purple and navy blue.
Step four. Using the blending tortillon, blend the colors together.
Some ideas for words include adventure, explore, wanderlust and memories. You can even write the name of a state or country that you visited this past summer. It’s a great way to designate a single notebook for each trip.
Tip: Don’t load up the toothpick with too much paint at a time. Write one letter (or part of one letter) then pick up more paint. This will prevent drops of paint from falling on the DIY journal.
The fun doesn’t stop there, though. Autumn is a beautiful season for hiking and walks. To make a fall-inspired notebook, use acrylic paint in shades of red, yellow, brown and orange. Fill the notebook with found objects such as dried leaves, recipes and photographs.
