Father’s Day is quickly approaching and it is time to start thinking about how to make dad feel special! Looking for something you can give him to accent all the ties he owns? Or maybe you are getting him a tie and want to make a little something extra to go with his gift. A bottle cap tie tack is simple to make and can be customized with photos of children, sports team logos, funny quotes – anything!
- Tie Tacks
- Flat Bottom Bottle Cap
- Epoxy Domes
- Chrome Magnetic Bottle Caps
- Photo or Picture
- E-6000 Glue
- 1″ Circle Paper Punch or scissors
Step one: Prepare your tie tack photos by having them printed or printing them on your color printer. Use scissors or a 1″ paper punch to cut out each picture you will place inside a bottle cap.
Step three: Adhere one of your 1″ pictures to the inset of the bottle cap.
Step five: Add a dab of glue to the center back of the bottle cap.
Step six: Set the tie tack earring post onto glue and let it dry.
Step seven: If you want to go a different route than the tie tack, you can also create bottle cap magnets using the same steps I listed above. These magnets are perfect to stick on a file cabinet at work or to hold a child’s artwork on the refrigerator! What do you think of this gift idea?
