I’m SO happy that spring is finally here and in celebration of spring, I thought it was time for a new wreath for my front door. Here’s a simple tutorial to make a cupcake liner wreath. The best part about this is that the color possibilities are nearly endless. You can get the family in on the fun too. I had my daughters help cut the cupcake liners and they really enjoyed helping out. So, let’s get started!
Cupcake liner wreath Supplies:
- Your Choice of Cupcake Liners
- Push Pins
- Various Trim
- Styrofoam Wreath
- Core’dinations Party Mixers Mini Rosette Garland *
- Paint or Paint Marker
- Paint Brush
- Scissors
*The blue rosette color used in the project is no longer available, but the project can be coordinated using white rosettes.
Step 1. Fold cupcake liners in half.
Step 2. Cut the middle part out of the cupcake liners so the ruffled edge is left. Next, cut the liners down the side, so it will wrap around the wreath.
Step 3. Pin each cupcake liner in place after you wrap it around the wreath. Don’t worry if it doesn’t go all the way around. Just make sure you have enough to make it around to the back side – the front side is all the matters. Repeat this process creating a pattern. I wrapped my foam wreath with a repeating pattern of 10 cupcake liners in each color.
Step 4. Embellish with any sort of ribbon or trim. Once I got started I just kept going because I was having so much fun with it.
I also added a little bit of lace trim.
I also decided to add these fun rosettes. They’re great because they come in a package with the ribbon and the mini clothes pins all in one. I just painted the letters on each rosette to spell out spring.
I’m so excited for my new cupcake liner wreath. I love how bright and cheery it is. Enjoy making your own.
By the way, a cupcake liner wreath would be a great decoration for a birthday party too. 🙂
