Pom Pom Ice Cream Craft for Kids

It’s that time of year. Whether you’re young or old, you probably have ice cream on the brain.  Warm weather and warm evenings bring out the ice cream monster in everyone. Here’s a cute tutorial for making some ice cream craft cones that your kids can use to play with in their kitchens or just around the house.

Just a few supplies are needed to create these cute pom pom ice cream craft cones.

Ice cream craft supplies:

  • Various Colors of Yarn
  • Darice Pom Pom Maker Set (large size)
  • Darice 4 x 2 inch Paper Mache Cones
  • Scissors
  • Hot Glue Gun
  • Darice Acrylic Pom Poms
  • Scrap Paper
  • Darice Polka Dot Adhesive Sheets

Step 2. Using a scrap piece of paper, form it around the paper mache cone and cut it to size.  This will be the template of the ice cream cone that you will use to cut out your cute paper.

Step 5. Using a hot glue gun, glue along the top of the paper mache cone opening to cover the lip.

Step 7. Hot glue a small acrylic pom pom to the top of the ice cream craft cone like it’s a cherry on top!

These are great addition to any play food that you might have in the house.  My daughter was so excited about these that she immediately put these in a shopping basket and started to carry them around saying she was the ice cream man.

Have fun with this ice cream craft idea.  They should bring countless hours of  play fun to your house.
