Everything is better with a little bling and this DIY fall decor is no exception. If you are looking for a simple project to do on a fall afternoon, these paper mache fall letters are perfect! If you have kids at home, they can help with this DIY fall decor too!
- Darice Paper Mache F-A-L-L Letters
- Craft Paint (I used Black & Beige)
- Darice Sticky Back Gems
- Foam Brushes
- Sand Paper
Step One: Paint letters with black paint. You don’t need to paint the back of the letters or the bottom . Allow to dry (10-20 minutes).
Step Two: Add a very light layer of vaseline to the edges of the letters. This will allow you to easily distress the paint once your second color is dry.
Step Three: Paint over the black paint and vaseline with beige paint. Allow to dry.
Step Four: Use sand paper (or a nail file – works just as well for easy projects like this!) to lightly sand all of the areas that you applied vaseline to. You will begin to see the black paint show through. This is the look you were going for.
