I love the glitz and glam of the Oscars! It’s fun to have friends over for an Oscar Party, and today I’m sharing the perfect centerpieces for your party!
When I think of movies, one of the first things that comes to mind is popcorn, so I put together an awesome gold popcorn centerpiece. It is very easy to make and takes just a few supplies, which is my favorite kind of craft!
If you have your guests fill out an Oscar party ballot, then this gold popcorn centerpiece could also be used as a fun award for the guest that gets the most correct answers on their ballot.
Oscar Party Centerpiece Supplies:
- Darice Plastic Popcorn Tub
- Darice Movie Border Embossing Folder
- 4″ Styrofoam Ball
- Popped Popcorn
- Glue Gun & Scissors
- White & Gold Spray Paint
- Darice Dream Sequins Gold Paper sheet
- Embossing Machine
- Darice Gold Bling on a Roll
Step 1. Apply some hot glue to the “equator” line of a 4″ styrofoam ball, and place in a tall thin plastic popcorn tub. This will be the base for the popcorn. Add hot glue to a small section of the foam ball, press some popcorn into the glue, and hold it in place for a few seconds. Repeat, until all of the styoroam ball is covered and the popcorn is as high as you would like it.
Step 2. Paint a couple light coats of white spray paint over the popcorn container, making sure to let each coat dry before painting the next. Then spray two thin coats of gold spray paint. Let dry.
Step 3. Cut a piece of gold sequin paper to the size of the ticket embossing folder. Place the gold paper inside the embossing folder, and then run it through your Big Shot or other embossing machine using the manufacturer’s directions.
Have fun at your Oscar party!!
