Monster DIY Pencil Box for Kids

Looking for a fun Back-To-School project to make for or with your elementary kid? This monster DIY pencil box is a breeze to put together and a totally fun way to store all their pencils, pens, and markers. Not into kid crafts? No worries, this would be perfect for Halloween as well!

DIY-pencil-box-case-monster-Darice-1DIY Pencil Box Monster Supplies:

  • Darice Craft School Box
  • Darice Craft Yellow Fur
  • Darice Frog Eyes
  • Darice Black Craft Felt Sheet
  • White Glue

Step One. Cut five pieces of the felt to fit the top and four sides of the box. Spread the fur away from the cut line if you want to keep it long.

Step Three. Using a pair of needle nose pliers, carefully punch holes through the fur and all the way through the lid of the box. Use the included washers to secure eyes in place.

Depending on the look you want, you can always cut away some of the fur on the top “lip” of the monster to expose the teeth more. Or not, it’s totally up to you! Moving around the fur to customize the look of your monster is part of the fun!

Yellow not your color of choice? Darice has tons of different fur options for you to choose from!
