Although I’m personally not a big fan of bugs – the little critters I’m sharing today are ALWAYS welcome in my home. Today’s dragonfly crafts for kids activity is perfect for little ones since it’s super easy and it’s inexpensive too {just how we like it around here – am I right?!} Plus you can easily turn them into magnets for the fridge or even add some string on the back to hang them as spring decor around the house! I just hope my post inspires and sparks tons of “buzzing” crafty time with you & your child today! Happy crafting!
Sticky Sticks Dragonfly Crafts Supplies:
- Darice Sticky Sticks Fan Handles
- Darice Jumbo Craft Sticks
- Washable Tempera Paint
- Darice Kid Craft Scissors
- Wiggle Eyes
- Darice Gem Finishing Accents
Step 1. First pull out your craft sticks and decide how many dragonflies you want to make today. You will need one sticky stick and two jumbo craft sticks for each of the dragonfly crafts.
Now go ahead and remove the sticky tab off your sticky stick and place the two jumbo sticks, side by side, on top of the adhesive to make wings for the dragonfly. If you have some adhesive exposed after you place your pieces down, go ahead and take the plastic tab you just pulled off, trim it down with scissors and place it where the adhesive is. Repeat for each dragonfly you want to make.
Step 2. Next you are ready for paint. Simply flip over your newly made dragonfly and have children paint the front of it however they like! Really let them go crazy with their ideas!!!
Set aside to let it dry completely when done.
Step 3. Now for the final touches. Grab your rhinestone accents and place them all over the dragonflies wings {or anywhere else you think it needs some flair!} Then grab your wiggle eyes and glue those down so your dragonfly can see. Then display or play with proudly!!!
So what are you waiting for? Grab those craft supplies and get to work on helping your child make their very own collection of custom dragonfly crafts! Don’t forget to make a few pieces yourself so you can join in on the fun too!
