Hello everyone, thanks for stopping by and checking out my latest project, how to make dog toys. I created a fun patriotic inspired toy made from bandanas. Can you believe this is the first dog toy I’ve ever made?! It was so fast and easy to make, only a few supplies are needed: bandanas and a couple tennis balls!
I will be making more in the future for Miss Sadie, that’s for sure! She was so excited about this toy, as I was taking pictures she would run over and grab it if I left the room. So this dog toy is Sadie approved!
Let’s gather our supplies and get started!
How to make dog toys supplies:
Step 1. Get your three bandanas and fold them over to create long strips.
Step 2. Tie some jute at the end to keep in place. Then start braiding your bandanas!
Finish off with some more jute tied at the end.
Step 3. Use a marker to mark where you want your holes on the tennis ball.
I pulled out my “trusty” hobby knife and put a hole on both sides of a tennis ball where I marked my spots.
Then place over the braided bandanas. You may have to adjust the size of your holes on the tennis ball. I had to go back and make mine a little bigger.
Step 4. Finally get a pair of scissors and fray the ends of the dog toy.
See how easy that is!!
Now Miss Sadie has a new dog toy to play with! Look at that smile on her face!
I made another one the same way, but added two tennis balls to each end this time.
As always, thanks for stopping by and checking out how to make dog toys. This DIY dog toy can be made in so many styles using Darice’s bandanas. Your dog will be happy you did!
