The eyes are glow in the dark, making these Halloween treat bag ideas a super fun treat to hand out to the little ghosts and goblins who knock on your door on Halloween night!
Halloween Treat Bag Ideas Supplies:
- 9×12″ Black Felt Sheet
- Shears
- Pinking Shears (optional)
- Button Hole Cutter (optional)
- White Thread or Fabric Glue
- Darice Glow-in-the-Dark Googly Eyes
- Hot Glue
- Darice Oh So Trendy Ribbon – 5/8″ Geometric Orange
- Darice Oh So Trendy Ribbon – 5/8″ Geometric Tangerine
To begin, use the shears to cut the felt sheet in half lengthwise.
If desired, pink the short edges of the piece, as shown. (This is completely optional, but it adds fun dimension to the finished bags.)
Using the button hole tool or a sharp pair of scissors, make 4 equally spaced 1/2″ slits about 3/4″ from each of the short edges of the piece.
Fold the felt piece in half widthwise, so that the short ends meet. If using a sewing machine, stitch along the side edges of the treat bag with either a straight or a decorative edge, leaving the top opening of the bag unstitched. (I opted to use my machine’s blanket stitch.) To make this project completely no-sew, use fabric glue to seal each of the side edges.
Use hot glue to affix 3 pairs of googly eyes to the front of the bag.
To finish, cut a 24″ strand of ribbon, and thread it through the slits at the top of the bag to form a drawstring.
Now, fill the bag with a special treat and tie up with a festive bow. Your googly eye treat bags are complete!
Crafting these simple Halloween treat bag ideas is a great way to elevate store-bought candy to a whole new level. With just a small investment of time, your house is sure to have the best treats on the block this Halloween night!
