Easter is over and Spring is out in full force! Today I am sharing a quick and easy DIY Spring Butterfly Plate idea. When I was growing up, my grandmother loved to work with us to make decorative plates to put out on my mom’s kitchen countertop for just about every season and holiday. As kids, it wasn’t a visit with grandma unless we had the mod podge out and were crafting something. With that in mind, I thought it would be fun to use a spare plate I had to create a cute spring decor idea that you could create with your kids!
DIY Spring Plate Decoration Supplies:
- Scrapbook Paper
- Butterfly Punch
- Hot Glue
- Green Glitter
- Mod Podge
- Scrapbooking Letters
- Glass or plastic clear plate
How to:
1. Start by rounding up your supplies, then apply a thin coat of mod podge to the back of your plate and apply glitter over top.
2. While the glitter is drying, use your butterfly punch to cut out butterflies from various pieces of colorful scrapbook paper.
3. From there, I applied my butterflies with hot glue in varying patterns on the plate and finally I added the word “SPRING” in gold scrapbooking letters as a final fun touch to my plate decoration!
I hope you enjoyed this simple and easy spring plate decoration DIY! Enjoy!
