Click the image below to see the Moroccan lantern template. This template will work for lanterns with approximately 2″ x 3″ windows.
Step One. Print Moroccan lantern templates and cut out.
Step Two. Tape your chosen template to the lantern window, with design facing outward. (Note: you might want to print four of the same template and tape them to all four of the windows during this step.)
Step Three. Use liquid leading (or black glass paint) to trace the lines on the template. Allow paint to dry according to package directions. Add additional dots and squiggles if desired.
Step Four. When black lines are completely dry, paint the rest of the design using Mod Podge Sheer Colors or Gallery Glass paint. Allow to dry completely.
And you are done! Place your new DIY Moroccan lanterns anywhere in your home to add a colorful and exotic look to your decor.
With this technique, you can create any lantern glass design you can dream of (or print out on your computer!)
I hope you enjoyed this DIY Moroccan lanterns tutorial as much as I enjoyed creating them! Happy Crafting!
