Make it easy for friends and family to leave a note at your bedroom door with this DIY door hanger craft. Easily add a notebook to a door hanger with the help of washi tape — oh and don’t forget the matching pencil on a string.
Notebook DIY Door Hanger Supplies:
- Darice Foamies Door Hanger.
- Darice Washi Tape.
- Darice Mini Notebook. (Make sure the notebook is not wider than your door hanger).
- Darice Alphabet Stickers.
- A Pencil.
Step 1. Cover the pencil in washi tape.
Step 2. Tie a 24″ piece of yarn around the top of the pencil, then cover the knot with washi tape.
Step 3. Tie the other end of the yarn around the spine of the notebook.
Step 4. Cover the string on the inside of the notebook spine with washi tape.
Step 5. Tape the back cover of the notebook to the foam DIY door hanger. Put washi tape on all four sides of the notebook cover.
Step 6. Create a loop for the pencil to rest in. First, fold a short piece of tape in half on itself so all the sticky part is covered.
Step 7. Put the folded piece of tape onto the middle of another longer piece of tape – it will look kind of like a band-aid.
Step 8. Put the tape on the front of the notebook so the non-sticky part loops out, creating a spot for the pencil to rest in.
Step 9. Use alphabet stickers to add your name to the top of the DIY door hanger!
Step 10. Now hang it on your door so people can leave you notes when you’re away!
I hope you have as much fun using your DIY door hanger as you did making it! If you’re looking for other great projects for kid’s rooms, check out this tutorial for a DIY cork board monogram.
