The September Crafts and Cocktails with Jen at TOMS in Austin was a huge success. Who knew people would love painting this rock cactus craft so much. I knew I loved rock painting as I have done it for Day of the Dead, Halloween, Fall and Easter, but apparently it is an awesome activity year round.
Painted Rock Cactus Craft Supplies:
- Darice Paper Mache Pots.
- Darice Earthtone Pebbles (Or small stones for filler in your pot.)
- Darice White River Rocks.
- Darice Studio 71 Paint in Hooker Green, White and Cadmium Green. (Other colors can be used for painting your pots.)
- Darice Paint Brushes.
- Darice Pom Poms or Darice Flowers for Embellishment.
If you are not in Austin, TX and can’t join me for this fun monthly craft night, never fear. All you need are a few supplies to create this cute cactus craft – like smooth white river rocks. If you live near an actual river you could always grab some there.
Studio 71 Paint in various shades of green will be needed to paint your rocks. We used hooker green, white and cadmium green hue. Some people got crazy and added other colors to their cactus rocks.
I loved seeing all the different designs and patterns that people added to their wee little paper mache pots. You could also use a terra cotta pot if you wanted. Need some pot painting inspiration? You can’t go wrong with a good drip pot. How about embellishing with air dry clay?
Another gorgeous evening for Crafts and Cocktails with Jen at TOMS Austin. If you are ever in town please stop by and say hello. The crafts and cocktails are always free and the event is always TONS of fun.
