Today I was getting a little crafty with my son and working on a new project for his dino themed bedroom. I always love to have my kids help with the decorating around the house, especially when it comes to decorating their bedrooms. I think they enjoy their rooms more when they actually help with the projects. It’s something they can be proud of and show off what they’ve made. So one project that I knew would be perfect was to make a new sign using my Silhouette. If you have a cutting machine then this will be a pretty simple project to do, so let’s get started with this DIY dino wall art shall we?!?
I found my perfect colors using the DecoArt Satin Enamel paints. I’ve used this paint on a recent project and it turned out wonderful!
I found this great dinosaur head in the Silhouette library. I cut it out using my “trusty” vinyl and weeded out the excess parts.
Now here’s the fun part for the kids. Since we made our silhouette using vinyl all they have to do is fill in the dino head with paint. There’s no way they can mess this up. Honestly the less paint they use the more “rustic” it feels. This DIY dino art does not have to be perfect!
This shadow box DIY kid’s room decor would also look great in a dino themed bedroom!
